Alessandro Rebucci

Alessandro RebucciAndersen Institute Scholar & Head of Research

Alessandro Rebucci is a Professor of Finance and Economics at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, with a joint appointment in the Department of Economics at the Johns Hopkins Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. He is a Research Associate in the International Finance and Macroeconomics (IFM) Program at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), a Research Fellow in the International Macroeconomics and Finance (IMF) Programme at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), and a Fellow of the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research (ABFER). Previously, he held research and policy positions at the International Monetary Fund (Economist and Senior Economist, 1998–2008) and the Inter-American Development Bank (Lead Economist and Principal Economist, 2008–2013). In 2024, he was a Houblon-Norman and George Fellow at the Bank of England. He has also been a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve and the Bank for International Settlements.

He currently serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking and the Journal of International Money and Finance. His research focuses on international finance and macroeconomics, and it has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of International Economics, the Journal of Monetary EconomicsAEJ: Macroeconomics, and the Review of Financial Studies. He is a regular contributor to VoxEU.org and has written for FT Alphaville and FT BeyondBrics. He is a recipient of the Young Leader Award from the Council for the United States and Italy.
